The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation [GBC], has back down on plans to prosecute people who will default in the payment of the mandatory TV license fee. It follows a directive from its governing board. The governing board’s instruction comes in the wake of widespread public uproar against the policy. The Chief Justice has set up 11 special courts across Ghana to prosecute TV license fee defaulters. The development has incurred the wrath of Ghanaians in general who have resolved never to pay TV license fee. But a statement from the Board said, “following an evaluation of the situation has instructed the management of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) not to pursue any activity or set of processes, leading to the prosecution of any individual for the non-payment of the Television license fee.” The governing board further assured the general public not to entertain any fear for any such possible prosecutions. Prophet Kofi Amponsah The founder and leader of Ezra prayer center, Prophet Kofi Amponsah, the same man who predicted in 2016 that Nana Addo will win the presidency has sent a fervid warning to the president never to invite Stupid’ Shatta Wale to the presidency again or he will die. In early November 2017, Shatta Wale visited the president of Ghana at the Flagstaff house following a request by the president on Shatta Wale’s birthday for him to visit. Many other showbiz personalities felt the president was being biased for inviting only Shatta Wale to the Flagstaff ignoring the other hundreds of their equally famous musicians in Ghana. Others were also in support of the presidents request because they believed it will help the industry grow. Majority of Ghanaians have said that they will vote for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) if elections were held today. 52.7 percent of Ghanaians indicated that they will vote for the NPP while 33.1 percent say their votes will go for the NDC, according to a survey by the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana. After one year in office government received an approval rating of 62 percent. 5000 respondents from 250 electoral areas and 50 constituencies from the 10 regions participated in the survey. The respondents were of the view that policy implementation by government has been satisfactory. Majority of the respondents were of the view that government has also demonstrated its capacity to deal with some of the challenges confronting the NPP administration led by President Nana Akufo-Addo.     Actress Yvonne Nelson claims she decided to have a child with her current boyfriend, Fashion Photographer Jamie Roberts because he is “the right guy I can start something with.” She backed her claim with her decision not to accept the proposal of an ex who proposed to her in the past. “Someone proposed and I didn’t even marry him. I felt like okay this is the right guy I can start something with,” explained Nelson to Blakk Rasta on Zylofon FM. “It’s fate and can happen to someone at 25 but mine happened to me when I turned 29.   Ghanaian comic actor, Richard Asante popularly known on screen as Kalybos has started his own comic skit dubbed ‘Adventures of Kalybos’. His new self produced comic series got people asking if he is no more working with Kofas Media. But the comedian who shot to fame with Kofas Media’s “Boys Kasa‘ comic series alongside the gorgeous Ahuofe Patri confirmed on Accra based  Zylofon FM that he has parted ways with his former producer, Kofi Asamoah.
